Move America and Maryland APEX Accelerator Launch 12-Month Cybersecurity Compliance Cohort for Small Businesses
College Park, MD - November 12, 2024 - ​ Move America, in partnership with the Maryland APEX Accelerator, proudly announces the launch of a 12-month cybersecurity compliance cohort, funded by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This fully-funded, 12-month, no-cost program is designed to help businesses achieve Cybersecurity Maturity Model
Certification (CMMC) and NIST SP 800-171 compliance and enhance their capabilities as Department of Defense (DoD) contractors.

The cohort will support six APEX Accelerator clients from Prince George’s County, Maryland, all of whom are DoD contractors.
Through this initiative, participants will receive tailored assistance, including two monthly meetings with cybersecurity experts, one-on-one support, and access to critical resources necessary for achieving compliance. The program will be led by Duane Wilson who brings nearly 25 years of expertise in cybersecurity to his role as the Director of Business Intelligence, Assessments & Advanced Computing at Move America. The cohort will also help APEX meet its DoD goal of strengthening the defense industrial base.
